Georgia law starts with a general rule. An employer is liable for a contractor&#8217;s negligence when it keeps the right to direct or control the time and manner of the work (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.legis.ga.gov\/api\/document\/docs\/default-source\/joint-features-document-library\/t51-(v39)-2017-pdf.pdf\">O.C.G.A. \u00a7 51-2-5<\/a>). Liability can also follow when the employer interferes and takes control, so the injury traces back to that interference.<\/p>\n<p>That is why the control question matters most.
